CPE Test Bulletin
The CPE Test Bulletin contains sixteen pages of necessary and helpful information, including a Registration Form for the exam. It outlines education and documentation requirements, exam fees, registration deadline, as well as what to expect after taking the exam. This highly specialized content is for the members of the American Electrology Association, potential members and those seeking the CPE credential.
As of 2008 the training requirement for electrologists from unlicensed states to sit for the CPE exam has increased from 120 to 320 hours. In an effort to ease the transition for electrologists who are practicing, but are not yet CPEs, IBEC has instituted the following:
- Electrologists from unlicensed states who have been practicing for at least two years from the date of the exam and have a minimum of 120 hours documented training, either at a school of electrology or by an instructor who is a CPE, will qualify to take the exam with proof of practice, such as a notarized statement from an employer, or advertising copy, etc. dated at least two years previous. The transition period will be effective for the current generation of exams, up to and including 2011.
